Welcome. We are all sojourners or pilgrims on this earth on a journey through life, not randomly wandering but seeking to find a meaningful path and purpose. A path suggests we are moving and making progress towards an ultimate goal or destination. In speaking of pilgrims and pilgrimage, this website is referring more to a pilgrimage of the heart and spirit and to the metaphor of pilgrimage as one’s life journey than to a physical journey. Here we hope to provide some inspiration and information about fellow pilgrims, guidance, and resources. As Richard Peace states in his book, Pilgrimage, “I believe there are three distinguishing marks that characterize a pilgrim. The first, and perhaps most distinctive quality, is that of movement. A pilgrim is one who has embarked on a journey of growth. Second, a pilgrim is characterized by his or her awareness of a goal. He or she is not involved in aimless wandering but rather in progressing purposefully toward a very distinctive, very real objective. Finally, a pilgrim is characterized by his or her willingness to pay the price such a life-style requires. He or she keeps moving toward the goal, despite the difficulty and pain that this sometimes involves (19).”
